The South Australian Marblehead State Championship was held at Harts Mill, Port Adelaide over two days 09 & 10 October.

20211009_SA_M1The competition was very good. While Scott Mitchell, Paul Littledyke and Brett Osborn (with his new boat) generally shared the top placings with Duncan Groome slipping in the mix on Saturday, the remainder of the fleet remained close and were often just a small margin behind.

The conditions were perfect testing all sailors with most rigs in the quiver used over the two days but it was Scott Mitchell who ended up at the top of the leaderboard for another state championship win with his F6.

Thanks especially to Johno, Gully, Graham and Ross for giving up their valuable time to run the racing.  It was also great to see many spectators turning up over the two days and to JB and Brian for taking pictures.  We also appreciated having single day sailors, Len, Duncan, Alan and Jeff supporting the fleet even though they weren’t able to sail on both days.

Ecio Marcel was awarded the perseverance trophy for consistently finishing the races with Scott, Paul and Brett taking the placings.  Hopefully next year we are able to attract some interstate visitors once COVID restrictions relax.
