The 2024 Vic RM State Champs were held over the weekend of 13 & 14 July with six Victorians and seven interstate Skippers, two from Canberra, two from Sydney and three from Tasmania.

With a light breeze from the west to start the day the first several races were indeed hard to navigate. Early out of the docks were Mark Newman from the ACT with his Grunge and  Richard Fisher from Tasmania sailing a Skalpel. Only one rescue was needed for Andrew Crocker who lost control in race Two. After four races a 15 minute break turned into a  early lunch. A new course was set by Scott Fleming (SW) and we were off again for the afternoon session. Scott Condie had finally found a winning setup and was on his way to top place with Lincoln McDowall in second and Lisa Blackwood third.

Day Two was a carbon copy of day one wind wise and Scott Condie took full advantage of the breeze winning 5 of the first 6 races. Other winners for the day were Andrew Reid, Mark Newman, Richard Fisher with the conventional sails and Rob Novak won the last, winner take all race. Only one casualty Andrew Crocker who retired after race 20.
