The outcome of this one was always to be a bit of an unknown, but a battle it was!
After a good day one it looked like Rosco Bennett was headed toward his second WA regional championship win in as many months, at the end of day one he held a two point lead from Glenn Dawson with Sean Wallis four points further back in third and maybe it just wasn't enough.
Glenn Dawson got off to a crackin' start on day one winning the first two races in the light north westerly breeze, but it was Bennett who then clicked into gear claiming four wins and a second from the next five races and looked to be showing some ascendancy while Dawson and Sean Wallis attempted to stay with him. Ian Sherriff managed to claim a race win heat 10 with Busselton local, Ken Irvine picking up a win in the final race of the day.
From A rigs on day one to B rigs on day two, a shift in breeze direction and it was on again. Ian Sherriff started the day with a race win with Rodney Moss, Roger Paul and Ken Irvine also getting in the mix collecting a win each, but at the end of 24 races with the top three having 6 wins each, it was Sean Wallis that split the tie breaker with 6 seconds versus Rosco & Glenn's five each. With equal scores for all counted races the split for 2nd was decided on the outcome of the last race which Glenn won, and secured second with Rosco third overall.
Overall racing was extremely close over the two days and the V10's took out the top 4 positions with V9's taking 5th & 6th.
